Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the rentai.now platform and all services provided by XI Ventures, Inc. d/b/a RentAI ("RentAI"). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Purpose

This policy exists to ensure the responsible and ethical use of AI Staff and the RentAI platform. AI systems require clear boundaries to operate safely and effectively. This AUP establishes those boundaries for all users.

2. Scope

This AUP applies to all users of the Service, including Hirers, Creators, and anyone accessing the platform. It covers all uses of AI Staff, the portal, APIs, and any associated tools or integrations.

3. Permitted Use

You may use the Service for:

• Hiring and managing AI Staff for legitimate business operations
• Reviewing, accepting, rejecting, or overriding AI Staff Outputs
• Providing feedback to improve AI Staff performance
• Integrating AI Staff with your business systems through approved APIs
• Building AI Staff through the Creator Studio in accordance with Creator guidelines
• Accessing documentation, support, and training materials

4. Prohibited Use

You must not use the Service to:

4.1 Illegal Activities

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or legal obligation
• Facilitate fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes
• Infringe upon intellectual property rights of any third party
• Collect, store, or process personal data in violation of privacy laws

4.2 Harmful Use

• Generate content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory
• Create or distribute misinformation, deepfakes, or deceptive content
• Develop or deploy weapons, surveillance tools, or systems of oppression
• Cause harm to individuals, groups, or the environment

4.3 Platform Abuse

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from AI Staff
• Circumvent security measures, access controls, or rate limits
• Interfere with the operation or performance of the Service for other users
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the platform without authorisation
• Create accounts using false or misleading information
• Resell or redistribute AI Staff services without written authorisation

4.4 Data Misuse

• Input personal data of individuals without lawful basis or consent
• Attempt to extract training data, model weights, or proprietary algorithms from AI Staff
• Use AI Staff Outputs to make automated decisions about individuals without appropriate human oversight
• Share or publish confidential Outputs without appropriate authorisation

5. AI Staff-Specific Rules

5.1 Automate Mode

When using AI Staff in Automate mode, you must:

• Verify that automated tasks comply with applicable regulations
• Maintain appropriate monitoring of automated processes
• Ensure automated actions do not exceed the staff member's defined scope

5.2 Augment Mode

When using AI Staff in Augment mode, you must:

• Review Outputs before acting on them
• Apply professional judgment to recommendations
• Not present AI-generated analysis as human-produced without disclosure

5.3 Autonomous Mode

When using AI Staff in Autonomous mode, you must:

• Configure appropriate escalation thresholds before activation
• Maintain human oversight and intervention capability at all times
• Review autonomous decisions on a regular basis
• Not delegate decisions that require human judgment, empathy, or legal authority

6. Output Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• Verifying the accuracy and appropriateness of AI Staff Outputs before relying on them
• Ensuring Outputs are used in compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations
• Maintaining appropriate records of how AI Staff Outputs informed your business decisions
• Disclosing the use of AI Staff in your operations where required by law or regulation

Violations of this AUP may result in:

• Warning: For first-time, minor violations
• Suspension: Temporary suspension of access to affected AI Staff or the platform
• Termination: Permanent termination of your account for serious or repeated violations
• Legal Action: Referral to law enforcement where violations involve illegal activity

The severity of enforcement action is at RentAI's discretion, taking into account the nature, severity, and frequency of the violation.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-platform notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
